Fifa 12 song1/2/2023 ![]() Once you’ve heard MGMT – Kids while playing FIFA it’s hard not to think it was written precisely to soundtrack a football video game. It’s essentially a decent Saturday at Reading and Leeds Festival. The most recent outings have lacked many iconic moments, but kicking off a run of three editions in the 2010s is a flurry of upbeat guitars, featuring The Strokes, The Vaccines, The Hives and Kasabian. Picture Ronaldo dancing through defences while listening to Ricky Martin’s La Copa de la Vida, and ruefully grimace while thinking about David Beckham’s red card against Argentina during Tubthumping by Chumbawamba – surely one of the most football songs ever. Bonus points for a cover featuring Edgar Davids and Roberto Carlos, too.Ī short soundtrack but suitably packed full of cheesy pop, just what any World Cup worth its salt needs. Ignoring the fact that it contained Avril Lavigne and the theme music was done by a band called Bedroom Rockers, Ms Dynamite – Dy-Na-Mi-Tee is a banger. We took on the difficult task of ranking the top 10 since the game’s incarnation. These songs would see you through your journey of building an Ultimate Team that lacked any actual footballing ability but each player had the pace of an Olympic sprinter.Just as football and video games are a perfect match, football and music have gone hand in hand throughout the beautiful game’s history.Įvery year the FIFA soundtrack represents the perfect amalgamation of the trio, but when has the game nailed it most? The ludicrous decision to put the perpetually-injured Jack Wilshere on the front of FIFA 12 was rightly scrapped on FIFA 13 in favour of the GOAT.įIFA 13 also included a quite brilliant soundtrack which included 'Shine the Light' from Sheffield outfit Reverend and the Makers, Django Django's 'Hail Bop', 'Sleep Alone' by Two Door Cinema Club, and a song that inspired so many to achieve/waste their potential on FIFA, 'Champion' by The Chevin. This edition was marked by the emergence of Stephane El Sharaawy and Alexandre Lacazette as must-haves on Ultimate Team and, let's be honest, a bit of a disregard for the game once Modern Warfare 3 came out in November 2011. ![]() However, these are supplemented by a range of instantly recognisable 'classics' such as CSS' 'Hits Me Like A Rock', Rock Mafia's 'The Big Bang', The Naked and Famous' 'Punching in a Dream' and The Vaccines' 'Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra)'. ![]() I mean, if this doesn't get you ready to help David Beckham and the rest of the England squad to get to France '98 then nothing else will. No, when reminiscing about FIFAs gone by we tend to determine its greatness by its soundtrack. Yet, in reality we do not judge it on the gameplay nor do we rate it on whether or not they enjoyed success on a particular edition.
