I assume you won’t shell out for tickets (based on you guys being younger and the tickets being so expensive) so if I were you around game time I would pick one of the places mentioned afterward and go watch there.Īfter the game you guys should hit up Magnolia Cafe, Kerbey Lane or find a Whataburger. Drink, listen to music, watch football on the big screens outside the stadium or try to mingle with people at different tailgates and piggy back off of their TV’s pre game. If I were you I would just show up at the stadium at lunch. You could go there too for another more “Texas-sy” kind of place Texas Chili Parlor serves up Chili and has a bar. The “Crown and Anchor” on Speedway is another good one. This bar was founded by the brother of a colleague of mine. A German restaurant and bar that dates back to the 1870’s.Īnother really cool place would be to go to the Driskill Hotel bar on 6th street.Īnother bar might be Pour Choices on 6th street. It is just a couple blocks from the stadium. Scholz Biergarten is kind of the most “Texas” and traditional gameday place. “Cain and Abel’s” in West Campus is another good place to watch. I always really enjoyed watching games at Austin’s Pizza on the drag (across the street from campus).
